- To assist the Centre Manager in all duties as required ensuring a high quality of administration across the school.
- To effectively manage the course office including IT and telephonic communication.
- To follow systems for the managing of pocket money, damage deposits, valuables, passports and other travel documentation for all international students.
- To assist in the collection and validation of HR documentation
- To handle and account for petty cash on a day-to-day basis.
- To manage the depositing and withdrawing of student pocket monies, course fees, sale of merchandise and other transactions on a day-to-day basis.
- To safe-keep valuables as requested.
- To assist other senior staff with the maintenance and management of administrative files/documents, including assisting the Leisure Management with accounting for all leisure and transport bookings.
- To be in charge of inventories for all departments and ensuring that the correct information is returned to LAL UK Summer Schools at the end of the course.
- To be responsible for ensuring all details on student bookings are understood by the appropriate departments and staff members.
- To assist in organising and maintaining rotas, e.g. main staff, meal monitoring
- To be fully engaged with students and International Group Leaders in the rigours of summer school work, providing excellent customer service while delivering the LAL Summer Schools product.
- To consistently ensure the welfare of the students remains paramount.
- To live on-site (optional), board and lodging provided as part of the salary package, from four days prior to the start of the course to attend induction training, until the end of the last contracted day.
- To carry out all tasks concerned with the setting up, administration and closing down of the course as advised by line management.
- To address any student, International Group Leader or host site representatives issues, complaints or suggestions by ensuring that the relevant LAL staff are made aware.
- To act in a friendly and professional manner with all of LAL’s agents, clients and staff and not engage in any activity which may bring LAL or the designated host school into disrepute.
- To assist all students, International Group Leaders and LAL agents to derive the maximum benefit from the course.
- To follow LAL policies and procedures.
- To read and be fully conversant with all training materials relating to the role, and all pertinent British Council Accreditation requirements, prior to the start of the period of employment.
- To ensure, when not on duty, that the appointed deputy and or Centre Manager is appraised of all necessary information.
- To hold the school’s emergency telephone as required.
- To be flexible to carry out any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Summer School management team, either in centre or at Head Office, including activity and welfare duties.
- To attend and lead all required meetings as instructed by the management team.
EssentialYou must be eligible to work in the UK (LAL do not sponsor visas)
- Educated to A level standard or equivalent
- Computer literate with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel
- A good understanding of child welfare
- Very good level of spoken and written English (CEFR B2 minimum, e.g. FCE/IELTS 5-6.5)
- At least 1 years’ experience in a an office environment
- Experience working with young people
